I enjoyed the Search Tools for Education section in which ther were 12? sourcesbut i think the best thing that i could relate to was http://www.turnitin.com/static/home.html --Turn it in.com this is a spectacular program that does a good job at preventing plagiarism. it saves each submission which is in the billions and score your work against the database sarching for similarities in words and sentence structures.
I enjoyed this because I have used turnitin many times for various classes and I love the program in general. i feel every teacher should use it to not only catch students plagiarising but to teach them as well.
I dont know what skill i would learn next. probably whatever caught my eye at the time. im open to learning anything and everything so its an open playing field.
I want my students to know about technology. i want them to know how it can be good, bad, and even dangerous because i think its necessary. i want them to embrace technology so that they surpass me in skill, that is my goal, to teach them.

This chapter spoke about computer viruses, what they are, how they work, and how they survive. it also talked about computer seurity in general such as antivirus programs, and things you can do to prevent a virus. It was very informative I actually learned a few things.
Again, in the last two seconds i haven't learned much except that it sucks to have school when you're sick, but it sucks even more when you have a final.
i can't wait til me and my fiance move so we can be settled and not in that half packed half not state.

Ths chapter talked about evaluating education and technology. this chapter however was basically illustrated in our website evaluation project. how you should know the source of you website for example and how you should fully investigate as to whether it is a valid source. this is very important for students to do so that they dont plagiarize on accident.
since last posting i have learned not to wait til this last minute to do my journals, lol. no seriously though i havent learned much.
i dont want to go to work today, it being the last day of summer school business will be slow. come visit me at Strozier, i'll give u coffee!

This chapter was about curriculum, and standards that need to be met. The curriculum is the teacher's blueprint to her class, if its parameters aren't met then How can she/he succeed? Another important thing talked about was integrating technology into the classroom. this was important as well because we are now in the age of technology.
Since last class, i have learned that i hate excel with a passion and love it at the same time. i did horribly on the practice test and skill check but it made me realize that there was a lot more to it than i had originally thought.
I have a head cold and i have to move on saturday, i am just trying to get through today so that i dont have to worry about working as well.

Digital media was the topic of discussion for this chapter and i actually enjoyed it. digital media is a necessary item because of the advantages it can provide especially in a school setting. digital media would be like the drill and practice software where youre introduced to a skill and forced to repeat it over and over. i would suppose SAM is very much like that.
since last class i have learned many new things about power point, nothing in particular but more fun and indepth things. (animation, noises, etc)
today i am ver tired, i had to wrk from 730-2 and then ha to run to class to take the skill check, luckily i got here on time more or less. i just want to go home and take a nap but i cant because i have homework to do. sigh

cjapter 4 talked about hardware and storage devices. the one i am most familiar with is a flash drive, i own two. i think hardware is a very important concept in today's technology but me persdonally, the vocabulary can get confusing. i think they should employ a more easily accessible vocab.
i like the fact that this course does in fact teach you a lot, i just wish the program SAM was a little more up on the times. it just seems a little archaic at times. i think there should be a special task force in charge of making a new version of SAM that is more modern.
since last post i have learned nothing really new considering i just posted the last post a min. ago. so i guess what i learned was "new things when using word. such as how to make a form, use a watermark and also, document protection. it surprises me because i have been using word for years and never noticed these things until now."-from post 3

Chapter 3 talked mostly about word, and application software in general. it talks about how to make your documents fun and interactive. it also has a great section on software available to persons with disabilities so that they too can partake in the use of these programs.
since our last post i have learned many new things when using word. such as how to make a form, use a watermark and also, document protection. it surprises me because i have been using word for years and never noticed these things until now.
for my future career i plan to teach, i want to teach in the k-12 level. my reasoning behind this is because when children are young you have a greater chanc of teaching them and making a difference. once they are older (college) they 'know everything' and are harder to convince.
